Situated at the southwestern edge of Grapevine Lake along the Highway 114 corridor, this town of nearly 14,000 residents was one of Texas’s first premier planned communities when it was established in the 1970s. Built around the only golf course designed by legendary golfer Ben Hogan, Trophy Club features beautifully maintained neighborhoods where backyard pools are a natural complement to the upscale lifestyle.

However, Trophy Club’s location in North Texas means pool owners must contend with highly expansive clay soil. This soil contains smectite clay minerals that cause it to swell when wet and shrink when dry, creating constant movement beneath pool structures. The area’s hot, dry summers followed by heavy rains amplify this cycle, leading to soil movement that stresses pool shells, plumbing, and equipment connections.
