Frisco grew up fast, and most of its backyard pools went in between 2000 and 2018. The older ones are in places like Stonebriar, Plantation Resort, and Starwood, and plenty of those have been in the ground 30 years now. By then, the original plumbing and skimmers are usually starting to wear out.

What's the most common leak you see in Frisco?

It depends on the age of the pool. On older pools, it’s mostly underground pipe breaks and skimmers pulling away from the shell. On pools built in the 2010s, we see more cracks from the 2021 freeze, plus skimmer seals that let go early as the clay moves.

How can I tell if it's a leak or just evaporation?

For the 24-hour tape test, switch off the autofill, then put a strip of tape on the pool tile at the water line and mark the level on it. Don’t add any water for the next 24 hours, and check the mark when the time’s up. A pool can lose about a quarter inch a day to evaporation in summer. If yours went down more than that, you’ve likely got a leak. Losing water faster with the pump running is another good tip-off.

How long does a repair take?

A skimmer or crack repair usually wraps up in one visit. If the pool needs steel piers, plan on two to three days. Underground pipe repairs take longer, and we’ll give you a timeline with your estimate.

My pool's only a few years old. Can it already be leaking?
