Why Fort Worth Pools Leak
On the west side, around TCU, Camp Bowie, Westover Hills, Rivercrest, Tanglewood, and Arlington Heights, plenty of pools went in during the ’70s and ’80s. A lot of them still run on the pipe they were built with.
Out around Hulen, Walsh Ranch, and Marine Creek, most of the pools went in after 2000, and some of them are already having skimmer and pipe trouble.
Much of Fort Worth sits on clay that swells up in a wet spring and pulls back again by August. A pool sitting in that gets shoved around a little every year, and that’s hard on skimmers and pipe joints whether the pool’s 5 years old or 50.

Leak Detection
We'll track down where the water's getting out and walk you through it before we leave. The steps we use are further down.
Skimmer Repair
On the newer pools around Hulen and Walsh Ranch, the skimmer's often where the first leak shows up. Depending on the damage, we reseal it to the shell or swap in a new skimmer.
Crack Repair
Before we patch a crack, we dye test it to see if it's taking water and check whether the shell's still moving around it. That tells us which repair will actually last.
Underground Pipe Repair
Plenty of west-side pools still have their original plumbing under the deck. We find the broken section before anyone picks up a shovel, then replace that piece.
Foundation Leveling
If the pool's settled at one end, we'll have a licensed Texas engineer look it over. The fix is steel piers, placed where the engineer calls for them.
Tile and Coping
Coping that's lifting or tile that keeps popping off at the waterline can be an early sign the ground's moving. We'll reset or replace it, and if something bigger is going on, you'll hear it from us.
Pumps, Filters, Lights
We fix pumps and filters too, including Pentair, Hayward, and Jandy. A dripping pump seal or a light niche leaking behind the shell can look like a pool leak, and sometimes that's all it is.
Pool Demolition and Removal

How We Test for Leaks
Initial Inspection
We start by asking when you first noticed the drop and how much you're adding each week. Then we look over the shell, the tile line, and the equipment.
Dye Testing
We put dye near fittings, lights, drains, and cracks. Any spot that draws the dye in is letting water out.
Pressure Testing
Every pipe that runs to the pool gets plugged and pressurized by itself, which tells us exactly which line is broken.
Acoustic Detection
Acoustic gear picks up the sound of water escaping from a buried pipe, so we can mark the spot before anyone cuts the deck.
Structural Evaluation and Report
If the shell's cracked or the pool's settling, we'll point it out, and a licensed Texas engineer takes a look before any structural work. Everything we find goes in your report.

How to Tell It's Leaking
A Fort Worth summer can pull about a quarter inch a day out of a pool through evaporation alone. If it’s dropping faster, that’s worth a look, and so are these:
- Adding water more than once a week to keep the level up

What does leak detection cost in Fort Worth?
It comes down to the pool’s size and how many lines we have to test. A small pool with the equipment close by takes less time than a bigger one with more plumbing, and you’ll know the price before we start. Repairs are quoted separately and average about $2,500, and you’ll have that number first too.
Is it a leak, or is the heat just evaporating it?
Try the 24-hour tape test. Turn off the autofill, stick a strip of tape at the water line, and mark the level on it. Don’t add any water for 24 hours, then look again. Heat alone can take about a quarter inch a day in summer, so if it’s down more than that, you’ve likely got a leak.
Why is my newer pool already leaking?
We see it a fair amount around Hulen, Walsh Ranch, and Marine Creek. Ten or fifteen years of the clay swelling and drying out is plenty to crack a skimmer loose or work a pipe joint open.
Will you have to tear up my deck?
Only over the break. Pressure and acoustic testing tell us where it is before we cut, so it’s usually a small section of deck instead of a long trench.
What happens after you find the leak?
You get the report and a repair price, and nothing happens until you say go. A skimmer seal can often be fixed in one trip, while pipe and pier work take longer.
